youth climate advocates participation at COP27

There is now a UN climate summit, COP27, happening in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. For the first time, COP will have a Youth Envoy, Omnia El Omrani, who will help to make sure that youth climate advocates are heard at COP27. young people will also have their own pavilion, where they can run events at COP. I think it’s absolutely great that nowadays more and more world leaders take their time to listen to what young people and children have to say about our planet. It’s especially important that youth is heard because it’s them who will live in the future world that adults are creating right now. Because young people will be the ones facing the consequences of climate change they want to do anything they can to reduce the numer of those consequences as much as possible. The collapse of a bridge in Gurajat

On October 30 at around 6:30 local time a bridge in Morbi in Gujarat has collapsed. The bridge snapped in two which lead to the death of 135 people who either drowned in the river or were fatally injured after falling on to the stones below. There is no evidence that the company which was responsible for the earlier renovations has any experience in bridge repairs. Therefore there are allegations that corruption is to blame for the tragic accident. I think it’s unbelievably heartbreaking and unfair that all those people have lost their lives most likely because the government preferred to make a choice that is best for them and not for the citizens who they’re responsible for in a certain way. Politicians should be protecting people and acting in their favour and not exposing them to potential risks and hence possible injuries and even death. source: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/nov/01/gujarat-bridge-collapse-anger-grows-in-india-over-cover-up-c...
